Landscaping - Preliminary Site Design For do-it-yourselfer's
|
As they say first impression is the best impression and curb appeal is your first impression. In this housing market it is very
difficult to sell homes in general, whether it be a new home, an old home, or a foreclosed home. Let's face it, with the economy at
it's worst it is more important than ever to cut your expenses as best you can while trying to update your landscaping desires to
help improve the value of your home.
Just as important in this economy, most of us are having to cut vacations out of our budgets. What do we do to give our families
the escape so desperately needed and yet keep our expenses low? The answer is an environment worthy of a stay-cation.
Outdoor kitchens, play areas for our children (with or without tents), waterfalls that block the noise of traffic, swimming ponds
or pools with or without the feel of a beach, outdoor showers, tropical environments to lounge around in. The possibilities are
endless.
If you are a do-it-yourselfer, have the skills, tools and desire to do the labor yourself and can enlist help from friends, family and
kids to help you with labor, but you lack good design ideas to create the perfect landscape you need, MD Design can help you
with a Site-Design.
Below are a pictures of a project that had family, friends, children and even some strangers from all over the United States
helping with different aspects of the project. By visiting commercial job sites and the local golf course the client was able to talk
the development company or supervisor at the golf course into donating the local indigenous rocks for the clients back yard
landscape project. If truth be told it saved those companies the cost of having the materials removed from their job sites.
All of the composite lumber the client used in this project was bartered for other services. This clients motto was "free is best",
what couldn't be gotten for free was acquired for pennies on the dollar through negotiating. Remember, everyone is hurting for
business in this economy and most companies will negotiate with you just to make some type of profit, even if the profit is
smaller than it's peak days, any profit is better than no profit so don't be afraid to negotiate.
Let's not forget Craigslist. At Craigslist.com there is a section titled "Free". This can be a great way of acquiring materials
absolutely free. Time and patients is key here, once you determine supplies needed start scoping out the free materials.
To contact us regarding your project go to our "Contact Us" page and drop as an email, or call us, we will be happy to talk about
your options.
